Personalized nutrition is emerging as a promising approach to optimize health outcomes by accounting for individual genetic and metabolic differences. This review examines the current methods and approaches for integrating genetics and metabolomics into personalized nutrition strategies. We discuss the importance of understanding an individual's genetic makeup, including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), and their effects on nutrient metabolism and health outcomes. Additionally, we explore the role of metabolomics in elucidating individual metabolic profiles and identifying biomarkers for personalized dietary interventions. We also discuss the application of computational and machine learning techniques in data integration and analysis, as well as the ethical and regulatory considerations surrounding personalized nutrition. The ultimate goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the field and identify future research opportunities to improve the implementation of personalized nutrition for disease prevention and overall health promotion.
Emotional eating, hunger, and fast food addiction are global concerns extensively studied in recent years due to their implications on public health and well-being. This review aims to comprehensively understand the interconnections among these variables by synthesizing findings from worldwide studies. Emotional eating, characterized by consuming food in response to emotions, has been linked to obesity, poor dietary choices, and increased vulnerability to food addiction. Both physiological and perceived hunger significantly drive individuals towards highly palatable and energy-dense fast foods. Fast food addiction, an emerging concept in food addiction, is characterized by a persistent craving for and compulsive consumption of fast foods, often accompanied by negative health consequences. This review systematically examines global research and highlights the complex interplay between emotional eating, hunger, and fast food addiction. The findings underscore the importance of considering these factors in public health interventions and the need for a multidisciplinary approach to mitigate the impact of these phenomena on obesity rates and overall health. Furthermore, this review emphasizes the need for further research to develop tailored prevention and treatment strategies that address the unique challenges of emotional eating, hunger, and fast food addiction in various cultural and socioeconomic contexts.
Antioxidants can protect cells from free radicals, which contribute to heart disease, cancer, and other diseases. Antioxidants, due to their variety of benefits, such as their anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties, have attracted the attention of scientists in recent years. Antioxidants are still prevalent in many fields today, such as food technology. In this field, antioxidants enhance the taste and safety of a wide range of foods. It's been shown that antioxidants protect cells from oxidative damage, in both controlled lab settings and observational epidemiological studies. Although there are conflicting findings from clinical studies, it's still a controversial topic. This study aims to summarize the findings that have been made so far regarding the benefits of antioxidant consumption. The importance of antioxidants as an effective tool for preventing diseases throughout the world is also highlighted in this article.
The ketogenic diet has been popularized internationally in recent years, used widely for weight loss by overweight and obese people in a fast way. The purpose of the cross-sectional study was to evaluate the health implication of short and long ketogenic diets among the Kurdish population. a cross-sectional study has been carried from 22nd to 29th April 2021, a web-based questionnaire was consisting of two sections. Section one (3) sociodemographic questions (sex, age, and education level), section two was consisting of the (5) questions about the ketogenic diet information. The results show that the number of participants was 375 people. regarding the question of they have tried the ketogenic diet, 340 responses were yes. more than one complication has been observed such as headache, constipation, keto rash, keto breathes, kidney diseases as well as cholesterol and liver diseases, and about 45.9% (156) have not any complications during the implementation of the ketogenic diet. about 53.23% (181) respondents have stayed in the ketogenic diet for a short-term.
The purpose of this review is to demonstrate the significance and involvement of Nutritional Epidemiology in public health. The investigation of solving health issues that are linked to the Nutrition-related Diseases and food intake that are used by Physicians, Nutritionists, Dietitians as well as other Health Providers and Professionals of Public Health Community. Representing applied Researches that show the involvement of Nutritional Epidemiology in Public Health and the accomplishments of Nutritional epidemiology related to nutrient intake and healthy diet. Transformation of the diet-related diseases by Nutritional Epidemiologists into a Platform of Practice to Prevent these Diseases and Raise Individual or Public Awareness by nutritional recommendations. To show the influence and importance of Nutritional Epidemiology on Public Health, with a focus on the impact of the healthy food and lifestyle on diet-related diseases, decrease the risks of Morbidity and Mortality Diseases, identification of the Nutrient deficiencies between Childhood to Adulthood groups.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
