In this paper we describe a systematic technique for designing parallel algorithms to solvc linear systems. Our approach is based on the logic derivation of a target algorithm from specilication of basic relations in the linear equations domain and their properties. Both input specification and [he resulting algorithm are expressed in the declarative computer-independenl form. The methodology is illustrated by deriving the parallel Gaussian triangular solver.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
