In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in workplace health-related problems. The issue of Musculo Skeletal Disorders (MSD) has received considerable critical attention. Taking healthy posture has a pivotal role in prevention of MSD. In this study the management roles in taking proper sitting posture in workplace were assessed. Method and Istruments: A Semi-structured interview according to purposive sampling was conducted with a convenience sample of office workers working in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBUS). Interviews were recorded and transcribed into MAXQDA software version. Content analysis was used to establish the presence of certain themes and concepts within the text. Findings: This study revealed that there are four determinants as management role related to taking healthy sitting behavior among workers in workplaces. These determinants including: role modeling, setting policy, management support and manager healthy mindset. Conclusions: The identified factors provide organizational managers with a list of factors by which they can encourage their employees to use healthy postures in the workplace leading to significant reductions in job absenteeism and insurance fees associated with health problems.
Background: Sedentary occupations frequently expose employees to prolonged periods with poor posture, which has been considered as the cause of musculoskeletal disorder. Objectives: The study set out to identify the related factors of a taking healthy sitting posture in office workers. Methods: This qualitative study aimed to use the theoretical domains framework (TDF) to investigate perceived determinants to taking a proper sitting posture in office workers. Semi-structured interviews with 25 office workers according to purposive sampling was conducted with a convenience sample of university office workers in Iran. Recorded interviews were transcribed into MAXQDA version 10. Directed content analysis and framework analysis were used for drawing the 12 domains of the TDF. Results: Explored themes were mapped onto the TDF domains, including skills, knowledge, behavioral regulation, goals, environmental context and resources, social influences, beliefs about capability, intentions, emotion, beliefs about consequences, memory, and attention and reinforcement. Conclusions: This study is a theoretical starting point in making structured interventions to change improper sitting posture among office workers. Also, the identified factors provide organizational managers with a wide list of factors by which they can encourage their employees to use proper postures in the workplace, leading to a significant reduction in job absenteeism and insurance fees associated with health problems. In addition, this study enriches the literature by providing additional empirical evidence for the TDF theory.

In this regard,work station has a pivotal role in prevention of MSDs. This study was conducted to assess Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) among a sample of Iranian computer users. Method and Instruments: A cross-sectional study was conducted on office computer users of a university in Tehran. The sample size of 435 people were randomly selected from the university employees. A standardized questionnaire was used to collect data. The data were analyzed using Spss. Findings: The results revealed that the pain was frequently felt in the region of neck (64.4%), shoulder (60.9%) and wrist complaints (52.4%). The current study showed a high prevalence of MSDs among computer users. In addition, according to workstation questions, it was reported that there were no support device in for supporting lower back and arm in the workstation equipments. Conclusion: Workstation is one of the essential factors for the prevention of occupational damages in MSDs. This study recommends that there is a need to investigate office equipments as a crucial element not only for promoting performance abalities, health, safety, and efficiency improving but also in reducing complaints and pain caused by MSDs.
