The aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of learning materials through Problem Based Learning with Karo Culture Context (PBL-KCC), as well as improving students' mathematic problem solving ability and student self-efficacy. Learning materials developed were lesson plan, student book, student worksheet, mathematic problem solving ability test instrument and student selfefficacy questionnaire. This research is a development research using the development model of Thiagarajan 4-D model. Learning materials that have met valid criteria according to experts, were tested in class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Sibolangit. The results of the analysis of the data obtained indicate that learning materials based on PBL-KCC met the criteria of effectiveness and can improve mathematic problem solving ability and student self-efficacy. Based on the results of the study, it was suggested that mathematics teachers make an effort mathematic learning using learning materials based PBL-KCC.
This study research was aimed at finding the validity, practicality and effectiveness of Problem based learning model assisted by Geogebra and describing the improvement of students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The learning devices developed are the Lesson Implementation Plan, teacher's book, student's book, Student Worksheet and student's mathematical critical thinking ability test instrument. This research is a Research and Development, using the Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel development models, the 4-D model. Learning devices had fulfilled the valid criteria's according to experts, and tested in class XI at MAN Labuhanbatu. The results of research had shown that the learning device of problem based learning model assisted by Geogebra had fulfilled the practical criteria's and effective and could improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills.
This study aims to 1) Produce the valid, practical, and effective of Realistic Mathematics Education based learning tools; 2) Analyzing the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving ability that are learned using Realistic Mathematics Education-based learning tools; and 3) Analyzing the achievement of students' self-efficacy who are taught using Realistic Mathematics Education-based learning tools. The subjects in this study were seventh grade students of Junior High School 1 Lubuk Pakam. Data collection instruments in this development are assessment instruments to assess the products that have been developed. In addition, students were given questionnaires to get data about students' Self-Efficacy. This research is Research and Development with the design of learning development models by Dick and Carey. The steps include: 1) Conducting preliminary research; 2) Making software design; 3) Collecting the materials; 4) Developing the contextual based interactive multimedia; 5) Product reviews and trials; and 6) the effectiveness of product test. The results showed Realistic Mathematics Education-based learning tools on students' mathematical problem solving ability increased from trial I to trial II with an average increase per indicator of 0.35%; 3.99%; 16.22% and 8.32%. The developed learning tool has fulfilled the effective criteria, namely the mastery learning of students classically in the first trial has reached a good category and in the second trial has reached a very good category; the achievement of student learning goals during learning activities meet the ideal criteria specified; student responses is positive to the components of learning tools and learning activities developed; and the allocation of ideal time usage.
This study aims to: Describe the learning device with the model problem based learning that meets the criteria of valid, practical, and effective; Describe the improvement of problem solving abilities by using learning tools with the model problem based learning developed. This research is a development research conducted in two stages. Learning tools generated from this study are: Learning Implementation Plans, Student Activity Sheets, Teacher Books, Student Books, test problem solving abilities. From the results of the first trial and trial II, it was obtained: the learning device with the model problem based learning developed has met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective in terms of each criteria; there is an improvement in students' mathematical problem solving abilities classically by using learning tools with the model problem based learning developed in the first trial and the second trial was 23.34%.
This research study is research and development learning devices. The purpose of this study were: 1) Developed problem-based on learning tools with criteria are valid, practical, and effective; 2) Described the improvement of mathematical problem solving skills of student using learning device based on problem based learning developed. Learning device development using 4-D model which developed by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel, was done in two stages: 1) the development of learning devices; and 2) testing devices. The subject in this study were students of class X SMAN 1 Pematangsiantar, while the objects is the PBL developed, mathematical problem solving skill students. The results were obtained: 1) The learning devices based on PBL that developed have valid criteria, practical and effective; 2) There is an increased ability of mathematical problem solving skill of student using learning device based PBL developed.
