Analysis of PQ (Power Quality) signals for detecting PQ disturbances are one of the major challenging techniques being explored by many researchers. It becomes important to understand the causes of electronic equipment being damaged due to power disturbances, for this purpose there is need for reliable algorithm that can work for PQ analysis. First step towards PQ analysis is generation of PQ disturbances. In this work, the different models for power quality disturbances are developed using MATLAB Simulink. These models include three phase fault and switching of large load to simulate voltage sag, removing of large loads from system to simulate voltage swell, three phase nonlinear load to simulate harmonics at the load side, switching of large capacitor bank to simulate voltage transient at the transmission bus, connecting three phase dynamic load to simulate voltage fluctuations, switching unbalanced load on three phases to simulate unbalance in voltage, permanent three phase fault to simulate interruption, and converter with a source impedance to simulate notches. Simulink models are given and results are presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
