A Feynman-type path integral has been introduced to find an optimal strategy where a dynamic profit is maximized subject to a stochastic dynamics of a firm's market share. This method is useful under a more generalized non-linear system such as the Merton-Garman-Hamiltonian process where constructing a Hamiltonian-Jacobi-Bellman equation is very difficult. The path integral method also gives an optimal strategy without going through a value function and gives a different optimal strategy. The result obtained by a Feynman-type method is compared with that by the traditional Pontryagin's maximum principle.
A stochastic differential game theoretic model has been proposed to determine optimal behavior of a fish while migrating against water currents both in rivers and oceans. Then, a dynamic objective function is maximized subject to two stochastic dynamics, one represents its location and another its relative velocity against water currents. In relative velocity stochastic dynamics, a Cucker-Smale type stochastic differential equation is introduced under white noise. As the information regarding hydrodynamic environment is incomplete and imperfect, a Feynman type path integral under √ 8∕3 Liouville-like quantum gravity surface has been introduced to obtain a Wick-rotated Schrödinger type equation to determine an optimal strategy of a fish during its migration. The advantage of having Feynman type path integral is that, it can be used in more generalized nonlinear stochastic differential equations where constructing a Hamiltonian-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation is impossible. The mathematical analytic results show exact expression of an optimal strategy of a fish under imperfect information and uncertainty.
In this paper a Feynman-type path integral control approach is used for a recursive formulation of a health objective function subject to a fatigue dynamics, a forward-looking stochastic multi-risk susceptible-infective-recovered (SIR) model with riskgroup's Bayesian opinion dynamics toward vaccination against COVID-19. My main interest lies in solving a minimization of a policy-maker's social cost which depends on some deterministic weight. I obtain an optimal lock-down intensity from a Wick-rotated Schrödinger-type equation which is analogous to a Hamiltonian-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation. My formulation is based on path integral control and dynamic programming tools facilitates the analysis and permits the application of algorithm to obtain numerical solution for pandemic control model.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
