<p>A biorremediação é uma tecnologia que utiliza agentes biológicos para reduzir o impacto de áreas contaminadas por produtos químicos. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o desenvolvimento tecnológico dos produtos e processos de origem microbiana aplicados no tratamento de áreas contaminadas por metais pesados. A pesquisa foi realizada no Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial e no <em>Espacenet</em>®, utilizando a combinação das palavras-chave: biorremediação, metal pesado e micro-organismos, com dois códigos da Classificação Internacional de Patentes. Foram selecionadas 247 patentes dos bancos de dados utilizados. O maior número de depósito de patentes ocorreu nos anos de 2012 e 2013, sendo a China o maior depositante. As inovações tecnológicas mais depositadas foram relacionadas com a técnica de bioacumulação. A técnica de biorremediação está em ascensão, tornando-se uma interessante ferramenta para o tratamento de ambientes contaminados por metais pesados.</p>
Este estudo objetivou avaliar o desenvolvimento tecnológico de produtos e processos de origem microbiana aplicados no tratamento de áreas contaminadas por metais pesados, por meio de um mapeamento tecnológico de patentes, uma ferramenta estratégica para identificar inovações tecnológicas. Para tal, foram realizadas buscas em bases de dados na plataforma do Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial (INPI) e na do European Patent Office (EPO), utilizando-se uma combinação de palavras-chave e dois códigos da Classificação Internacional de Patentes (CIP). Foram selecionadas 247 patentes dos bancos de dados referidos. O maior número de depósito de patentes ocorreu nos anos de 2012 e 2013, sendo a China o maior depositante. As inovações tecnológicas mais depositadas foram relacionadas com a técnica de bioacumulação. Concluiu-se que a técnica de biorremediação está em ascensão, tornando-se uma interessante ferramenta para o tratamento de ambientes contaminados por metais pesados.
