Tooth brushing skills improved with age and the duration of tooth brushing made a significant difference to the oral hygiene status of the child. The type of grip used and gender did not influence tooth brushing ability in this group of children. Tooth brushing skills were low in children younger than 10 years of age. Hence, parental supervision is considered necessary and recommended until 10 years of age.
The prevalence of malodour in the population studied was 40.9% and oral health status and oral malodour were associated with one another. The prevalence of oral malodour was considerably high and should not be neglected in children.
Direct conditioning pathway is the major factor in determining child's behavior. Dental experiences, duration of treatment, and complexity of treatment have greater impact on how the child behaves in a dental setup.
Background. This paper reports a case with end-on-molar relation with maxillary anterior teeth proclination, lower anterior teeth crowding, and deep bite. The case was successfully treated in a short span. Clinically significant improvement in the dimensions of the maxillary and mandibular dental arch forms and sufficient space for the eruption of permanent teeth was observed. Conclusion. Therefore, it can be concluded that preorthodontic trainer is a valid treatment of choice in mixed dentition where transverse expansion is a part of the treatment plan, as the results obtained are within short period of time and have less chances of relapse, because the correction of a malocclusion is by elimination of soft tissue dysfunction.
