The growing issue on firm value shows that firm value is not only determined by the firm ability to increase financial profit, but also by the company's concern in maintaining the environmental condition. The industrial development produces waste that pollutes the environment that has potential to serious impact on the next life. In addition to provide financial benefits, companies are increasingly facing pressure to be socially responsible for the survival of the company. However, past findings demonstrate that the effect of environmental performance, profitability, and asset utilization to the firm’s value are still unclear. This study aims to test whether environmental performance, firm profitability and asset utilization can effectively enhance firm value in two different conditions: intensive debt monitoring and less intensive debt monitoring. Sample of companies is taken from the list of Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2013 to 2015. Using multiple regression analysis, discloses that: in intensive monitoring, managers tend to have high firm value when company has high environmental performance and or high profitability and high asset utilization. Monitoring system needs to be intensified especially for companies with the above characteristics.
This study aims to test if firm performance, firm size and debt monitoring can increase the firm value in two different conditions: high earnings management and low earnings management. Sample of manufacturing companies is taken from the list of Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2014-2016. Using multiple regression analysis, discloses that: in high earnings management practices, the company's value may decrease, although the company reported good performance. This study also finds that earnings management practices moderates the positive association between firm size and firm value. However, debt monitoring cannot improve firm value, in both situations: High vs. Low earnings manipulation. Monitoring system need to be intensified especially for companies with the above characteristics.
Abstract-The idea of this study was to descript the output and feasibility of sand utilization from mount Sinabung eruption activities. The sand used as materials to produce planting media for vegetables. The experiment started from collecting the sand with pretreatment then added by certain material such as: waste of coffee skin after fermented as compost with goats manure, the urine of red sugar and liquid phase red sugar and then prepared to make shape by pressure tool. Hydraulic pressure tool applied to construct the matrix media with cylindrical shape variation. In this application, the shape type of matrix media was used to grow different plants such as: onion crop, local red chili,and vanilla plants. The most important result is the possibility to increase the value of sand from Sinabung eruption that can be used as planting media. The media also can be used in the certain place around the living place to increase the income of the people Sinabung victims. This idea is possible to increase the productivity of the people around the mount Sinabung.
