Atrichopogon (Atrichopogon) albinensis Ingram & Macfie, A. (A.) mendozae I. & M., Forcipomyia (Forcipomyia) caliginosella Wirth, and F. (F.) zonogaster I. & M., are redescribed, photographed and illustrated, while the male of A. (A.) mendozae is described for the first time, from the study of type specimens in the Natural History Museum of London and freshly collected material. The studied species are compared with their most similar congeners, and new records for Argentina are also provided.
The pupa and male of Paryphoconus grandis Macfie are described for the first time. Pupae were collected from the edgeof a stream margin in Corrientes province, Argentina and reared to adults. Pupae and adults are illustrated and photographed. The species is known from Mexico to northern Argentina.
A new species of the subgenus Atrichopogon (Atrichopogon) Kieffer without distinctive pigmented wings is described and illustrated based on males and females: A. (A.) rufiventris. Atrichopogon (A.) eucnemus Macfie and A. (A.) woodfordi Macfie are redescribed and illustrated from specimens collected in several provinces of Argentina. This is the first record of those species from Argentina.
