Some geographical features and modern state of forest fund of UpperDnister Beskidies are examined. The age-structure and class of bonitet are found out. The basic indexes of two basic users of forest fund are compared. The principles of optimization of cenotic structure of these forests are also grounded. Historical and geographical features of the development, plan forms and toponymy of the mountain settlements in the Upper-Dniester Beskydy are described. Toponymy investigations are considered as one of the data sources about the conditions of the forests in the region at the pre-agricultural period. The main types of human impacts in the RLP “Verhnodnistrovski Beskidy” have been analyzed. The biggest changes here have been caused by agricultural, forestry, pastoral, residential and recreational impacts. For RLP territory in the context of rural councils, the value of human transformation and the ways of its reduction have been set. The present structure of the forest fund of regional park “Upper-Dniester Beskids” for the purpose of selecting of the optimal mode use of forest resources was investigated. Intensive forest management during the twentieth century led to adverse changes in the structure of the forest fund of landscape park. Distribution of forest of park by protection category and land category was analyzed. Species composition and age structure of forests of regional landscape parks were clarified. The degree of anthropogenic transformation of forest of park was identified. Optimization measures which should be carried out on the basis of functional zoning of the regional landscape park “Upper-Dniester Beskids” were proposed to improve the modern structure of the forest fund.
