The mixing process of high Schmidt number (700‐35000) aqueous solutions was investigated in an oscillating grid mixing vessel. The influence of the following variables on the mixing time was studied: Schmidt number, initial solution concentration, volume ratio of the liquids to be mixed and oscillating grid frequency. The measurements were compared with Corrsin's isotropic turbulent mixing theory. The data were correlated in the form of dimensionless groups, involving the aforementioned variables.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
