The preadsorption of n-nonane or n-undecane to various degrees of micropore filling, followed by immersion calorimetry into different liquids, has been examined for a set of well characterized active carbons. This approach provides a refined picture of the structural and chemical properties of the carbons, in particular the change in the hydrophilic character following the preadsorption of an organic vapour. The accessibility of triethylenediamine (TEDA), after preadsorption, is also examined.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
