A combined electron spin resonance (ESR)/optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) spectrometer is described. The microwave portion of the spectrometer is of the homodyne type and uses amplitude modulation of the reflected signal from the sample cavity for frequency stabilization and resonance detection. For ODMR spectroscopy microwave power incident on the resonant cavity can be pulse (Δt ≳ 100 μsec) or square wave modulated by a second modulating waveform.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
