This paper presents an optimal method for determining the best FDM processing parameters by minimizing the surface roughness using a nature-inspired moth-flame optimization algorithm. The experiment design is formulated using the Box-Behnken design. The quadratic model derived from ANOVA results shows that the model was significant and satisfactory. Moth-flame optimization algorithm is effectively implemented and found to be an excellent optimization tool for fast convergence and global optima location.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
