Verfasser untersuchten den mechanismus der Bildung von hartoxydschichten, die nach einem modifizierten GS‐Verfahren bei Temperaturen zwischen − 1 und + 1°C unter verschiedenen Bildungs‐bedingungen erzeugt wurden. An Hand von zahlreichen, wiedergegebenen, licht‐ und elektronenmikroskopischen Strukturaufnahmen wird sinnfällig gezeigt, daß der Ablauf der Hartoxydschichtbildung in morphologischer Hinsicht in vier charakteristische, je nach den Arbeitsbedingungen kontinuierlich aufeinanderfolgende, die Schichtbildung gut erklärende Perioden unterteilt werden kann.
Im Anschluß an einen einführenden Überblick, insbesondere über das lsolationsverhalten von anodisiertem Halbzeug und dessen Einsatz in der Elektrotechnik, wird ausführlich über die vom Institut für Metallforschung, Budapest, durchgeführten systematischen Anodisierungsversuche berichtet. In Wort und Bild beschrieben wird die für die anodische Halbzeugoxydation entwickelte Spezialanlage und das bereits großtechnisch erprobte Oxydationsverfahren, (Vorbehandlung, Bäder, Arbeitstechnik, Nachbehandlung). Abschließend wird ein Überblick über die deutschen, englischen, französischen und ungarischen Prüfverfahren für anodisiertes Halbzeug gegeben.
