Zusammenfassung Die sog. ?Steinzeitern?hrung?, auch als ?Paleo-Diet? oder ?pal?olithische Ern?hrung? bezeichnet, ist eine alternative Ern?hrungsform, die derzeit auf gro?es Interesse st??t. Als Begr?nder der modernen Paleo-Bewegung gelten der Mediziner S. B. Eaton und der Anthropologe M. Konner. Zentrales Element des Paleo-Konzepts ist die Anpassungsthese. Danach ist der Stoffwechsel des modernen Menschen genetisch noch immer an die Ern?hrungsweise der Altsteinzeit angepasst. Die altsteinzeitliche Ern?hrungsweise soll daher als Referenzstandard f?r moderne Ern?hrungsempfehlungen dienen. Biotheoretisch fu?t das Paleo-Konzept auf einem einseitigen Adaptationismus. Auch ist die tats?chliche Beschaffenheit der altsteinzeitlichen Nahrung nur ansatzweise bekannt. Eine ?moderne? Steinzeitern?hrung beinhaltet Obst, Gem?se, N?sse und Samen sowie Meeresfr?chte, Fleisch und Eier; gemieden werden H?lsenfr?chte, Getreide und Milchprodukte. Damit wird eine hohe N?hrstoffdichte f?r die meisten Mikron?hrstoffe erzielt, sodass die Paleo-Ern?hrung bei moderatem Fleischanteil f?r gesunde Erwachsene als Dauerkost geeignet ist. F?r Patienten mit metabolischem Syndrom stellt die Paleo-Ern?hrung ? neben einer kohlenhydratreduzierten mediterranen Ern?hrung ? eine m?gliche di?tetische Alternative zur Gewichtsreduktion und Verbesserung der Stoffwechsellage dar.
