A direct interpolation method using spline functions is suggested for the inversion of the Abel integral equation. The continuous derivatives of these functions allow a better resolution of the first derivative involved in the integral. The exact calculation of the integral is presented for a polynomial of degree p. The method is easy to apply: the programme presented is very short and the results are very accurate.
The spatial evolution of the plasma characteristic parameters in an arc column near a silver anode which is vaporising is determined through spectrometric analysis. The arc current intensity is between 20 and 50 A. The arc chamber and the experimental device are described. The plasma diagnostics procedure is indicated. The silver content is between 10-5 and 4*10-3. By an analysis of the results, the authors show a demixing effect and a significant drop in temperature.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
