In several developing countries, the electricity crisis obstructs both socio-economic and technological sustainable evolution. Also, it leads to reducing job availability due to shut down several industries or relocate to neighbouring countries to such an issue. A Najaf City is an important holy and tourist city in the middle of Iraq country. Indeed, waste management in An Najaf City needs to be reconsidered to be used as an energy source. In this article, we investigated and listed the waste quantity which produced recently (one year) respect to waste types and types of content. Data collected from the waste products for one year and are used as a key factor to study the feasibility of generating electrical energy from collected MSWs. The proposed model was simulated and tested respect to cost analysis factor of the suggested power plant by Homer pro simulation software. Results were very encouraging and competitive to the current energy production cost based on the production cost of the Kwh prospective among the conventional methods in Iraq. The proposed scenario provide proper and secure waste proposal technique with low-cost.
Many organizations often use physical hardware resources, such as storage devices and firewall, to store their essential applications and data. Recently, the Coronavirus pandemic represented a significant challenge for the University of Kufa, which utilize an on-premise data center for e-learning since 2009. Whether the learning management system (LMS) is installed on an on-premise data center or the cloud, it is crucial for any university, to decide which implementation is more suitable because of the differences between the two options, especially in terms of cost. This study uses the total cost of ownership (TCO) model to highlight the cost aspect when using on-premise datacenter versus cloud-based implementation for e-learning and to determine which option is cost effective. The results may help other universities, inside or outside Iraq, deciding which implementation is more suitable (financially) for the organization. The final results show that the cloud-based solution costs approximately 20% less than the currently used on-premise option. Despite all drawbacks of on-premise datacenter such as unstable electricity, bad Internet service, and costing more than cloud hosting, it maybe still more convenient in the case of the University of Kufa due to the sensitive data stored in the data center.
At the high power switching circuit's applications, when the harmonic distortion is harmful, a multi-level diode clamped inverter is useful, especially when reduced total harmonic distortion and high power are desired. But when the levels get a rise, number of semiconductors are also rising, which leads to many problems such as increasing cost, losses, installation area, and total harmonic distortion. Many researchers have tried to find solutions to these problems. In this sense, this paper focuses on: a) build a new structure of five level diode clamped inverter. b) Increase the efficiency of the inverter by reducing the number of switches. c) Reduce the total harmonic distortion. The theoretical calculation and simulation results are performed for five level diode clamped inverter by MATLAB/ SIMULINK.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
