Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar o papel da intervenção pedagógica do Programa Escola Cidadã no empoderamento das meninas-mulheres negras de comunidades escolares da cidade de Ibirité-MG. Para isso, foram entrevistadas 11 meninas negras participantes do Programa. Diante do cenário de baixa representatividade da mulher negra na política, verifica-se que o Escola Cidadã além de contribuir para a ampliação do protagonismo das meninas e mulheres negras, tem oportunizado um ensaio da atuação parlamentar para uma ocupação futura dos espaços de poder representativo.
Tendo em vista que a evasão escolar é um dos processos de exclusão do povo negro na sociedade atual, o artigo discute a relação entre a evasão escolar na educação básica e o fenômeno da necropolítica, tendo como hipótese que a evasão integra um projeto político maior de extermínio de vidas negras, sendo elemento estruturante do sistema econômico vigente. Utiliza-se o método ensaístico bibliográfico com ênfase qualitativa, amparado nos estudos de Mbembe (2018; 2017), Carneiro (2005) e autores complementares. Percebe-se que o mecanismo necropolítico separa vidas entre as que tem valor e as sem valor algum, bem como, as que podem ser descartadas e esse fator é determinante para segregar e afastar estudantes da escola, mais amplamente os da escola pública.
