Son olarak da, İHA'ların avantaj ve dezavantajları vurgulanarak, gelecekte yapılabilecek çalışmalara ışık tutulmuştur Anahtar Kelimeler: insansız hava aracı, tasarım, yenilenebilir enerji, kontrol ve haberleşme Development of unmanned aerial vehicles from past to present ABSTRACT In the aviation field, the demand for and studies conducted on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) increases all around the world and in our country each day. UAV's are controlled remotely or via satellite systems, are capable of vertical takeoff and landing and are capable of performing prolonged flights. UAV`s are used in areas including but not limited to surveillance, tracking, object recognition and remote intervention. Nowadays, a significant part of studies done about unmanned aerial vehicles is conducted on multi-rotor helicopters. These vehicles don't need takeoff or landing strips. They have increased mobility both indoors and outdoors. In addition, UAV's can remain suspended in air, and they don't need the complex mechanisms that single rotor helicopters do for flight. These are the main reasons for the rapid spread of this technology. In this study, the UAV research that has been conducted in the last 20 years has been reviewed. Generally UAV's are divided into two categories-for civil and military missions. In this project, the applications for UAV's for civilian purposes were specifically discussed. After examining the basic elements that make up the UAV, the mechanical, aerodynamical and lifting force tests that are conducted on UAVs have been summarized. Lastly, the advantages and disadvantages of UAV's have been summarized and potential future projects have been discussed *
