La crisis sanitaria desatada por el covid-19 ha logrado convertir a la economía peruana en el sexto país con mayores índices de contadio en el mundo, pero a la vez, ha incrementado la informalidad laboral e inestabilidad económica, especialmente, en trabajadores independientes, quienes han encontrado un medio de subsistencia ante la pérdida o reducción de sus ingresos, muchas de ellas relacionadas a la venta en las calles, sin importarles poner en riesgo su propia salud. El propósito del artículo es efectuar una revisión sistemática de la bibliografía existente en el mundo académico respecto a la informalidad en el Perú y su relación con la emergencia sanitaria que vive el país. La metodología adoptada fue la revisión bibliográfica sistemática, encaminada a recolectar, comparar y analizar fuentes bibliográficas de las distintas bases de datos académicos y revistas indexadas. Las conclusiones extraídas de la investigación, establecen que la informalidad se ha incrementado en los últimos años a consecuencia del Covid-19, siendo un problema social originado por la falta de oportunidades, débiles políticas públicas y la dificultad para acceder a la formalización y financiamiento.
