A colônia de Blumenau, criada em 1850, embora tenha sido ocupada inicialmente por pequenos agricultores originários da Alemanha, em pouco mais de 30 anos de existência vivenciou a criação de pequenas oficinas de costura e de fiação, cujo êxito levou à transformação em fábricas e à formação de um pólo fabril no setor. A partir da década de 1980, algumas dessas indústrias passaram por processos de reestruturação produtiva, transferindo parte de suas atividades a “terceiros”, também chamados de “facções”, ocasionando a redução do quadro de empregados e a precarização nas condições de trabalho. Em vista de tal realidade, pretende-se nesse artigo abordar os efeitos gerados pela “terceirização” por “facções” em Blumenau sobre a identidade profissional, a saúde e a renda dos operários, a fim de fornecer elementos para o debate e de permitir a elaboração de políticas públicas para seu enfrentamento.
