Con el objetivo de que paises como Chile y Uruguay dispongan de códigos de prácticas que generen esquemas de certificación reconocidos por Europa y Estados Unidos, se realizó el presente trabajo, en el cual se presentan los lineamientos básicos de un plan de cosecha forestal que busque cumplir con las exigencias impuestas por el Proceso de Montreal y los Sistemas de Certificación del FSC, SFI y PEFCC.
El presente estudio tiene como objetivo la aplicación de una metodología para la selección de sistemas de cosecha forestal, de acuerdo a criterios económicos, productivos y ambientales, con el fin de identificar un sistema que cause el menor daño sobre el suelo forestal. Para ello se efectuó por un lado, una revisión bibliográfica detallada de los estudios realizados en la temática y por otro evaluaciones en terreno, con el objeto de identificar las variables del suelo que pudieran ser afectadas, como también de las características de las maquinarias que estuvieran relacionadas con las alteraciones del suelo. Una vez identificadas tales variables, se estableció una base de datos, la cual fue integrada mediante la aplicación de la técnica de evaluación multicriterio
El presente trabajo corresponde a un modelo estático que analiza el comportamiento de un árbol ante la fuerza ejercida por el viento sobre éste. Para el establecimiento del modelo se asumió una determinada variación de velocidad del viento con respecto a diferentes alturas en el árbol, y en particular para el follaje y el tronco del árbol. De esta manera se estudio la distribución de fuerzas sobre el follaje, el momento flector, y el esfuerzo de corte, estimando de esta manera la zona de más probable fractura en el árbol
