El presente tuvo como objetivo explorar las investigaciones empíricas recientes sobre la Responsabilidad Social Universitaria (RSU). Se realizó una revisión de literatura basada en el diseño de scoping review de Arksey y O´Malley. Los resultados muestran que la mayoría de los estudios han sido publicados en Latinoamérica, en español y abordan temas principalmente relacionados al concepto, la enseñanza y los problemas de la RSU. La literatura muestra que el concepto de RSU ha incorporado diversas dimensiones que integran, particularmente, el cuidado del medio ambiente. Si bien la mayoría de los estudios se realizaron desde una aproximación cualitativa, las alternativas metodológicas utilizadas han sido diversas, de manera que no hay consenso sobre aquella que se defina como la más pertinente. La evaluación de la RSU al interior de las universidades, debe tener como base datos empíricos que permitan tomar decisiones respecto a sus funciones principales: la docencia, la investigación y la extensión; pues las problemáticas sociales actuales demandan soluciones que tengan como base los principios de la RSU en el trabajo conjunto de las universidades con la comunidad y otros sectores.

Introducción: La población adolescente y joven es un grupo prioritario en materia de promoción de la salud sexual, dado que sus principales problemas obedecen a comportamientos de riesgo, lo que ha sido establecido como una prioridad por los estados en la región de América Latina y el Caribe. Objetivo: Explorar que se ha investigado sobre las intervenciones basadas en la promoción de la salud sexual en adolescentes y jóvenes de América Latina y el Caribe. Material y Método: Se llevó a cabo una revisión de literatura basada en el diseño de Scoping Review de Arksey y O'Malley. La búsqueda se realizó en los índices y las bases de datos de PubMed, Scopus, Scien Direct, EBSCO, Scielo y Redalyc. Resultados: Se encontró que la mayoría de los estudios seleccionados fueron realizados en Colombia y Cuba y el enfoque metodológico más utilizado fue el cualitativo. Los hallazgos más relevantes fueron agrupados en tres áreas: evaluación inicial, intervención y evaluación final. Conclusiones: El panorama de las intervenciones para la promoción de la salud sexual en adolescentes y jóvenes muestra escasa producción en América Latina y el Caribe. Es necesario aumentar la misma y definir las estrategias pertinentes para mejorar las condiciones de la salud sexual en esta población en particular.
Objetivo: analizar los significados que le atribuyen a la infección por Virus del Papiloma Humano (VPH) mujeres y varones adultos diagnosticados. Método: estudio cualitativo basado en Teoría Fundamentada con la realización de 27 sesiones de entrevistas intensivas y semiestructuradas. Resultados: los significados sobre la infección por VPH se construyen y transforman a partir de cinco conceptos: darse cuenta de la infección, atender el estado de salud, pasar procesos emocionales, pasar procesos psicosociales y resignificar la infección. Destacan las emociones experimentadas, por lo cual la infección es referida como una “enfermedad sumamente emocional”. Conclusiones: los significados sobre la infección por VPH definen pensamientos y acciones que influyen en cómo las personas diagnosticadas atienden su salud, cómo lo viven emocionalmente, cómo lo comparten con sus seres cercanos y cómo lo sobrellevan. Los presentes hallazgos posibilitan el diseño de estrategias para la atención y la prevención de la infección por VPH.
