Efectividad in vitro del extracto etanólico de Cymbopogon citratus (D.L.) Stapf y hexythiazox sobre Raoiella indica Hirst In vitro effectiveness ethanol extract of Cymbopogon citratus (D.L.)
ABSTRACTRaoiella indica is an economic pest in coconut plantations however; information on strategies for ecologically sustainable control is still lacking in Venezuela. Effect of different doses of Cymbopogon citratus ethanolic extract and hexythiazox on mortality and oviposition of R. indica under laboratory conditions was evaluated. Higher mortality (92.5%) and reduced oviposition (100%) were observed with 7.5% ethanolic extract, while low concentrations of hexythiazox resulted in reduction of mortality > 80%, although showed variable results in relation to oviposition. Results support idea about using biopesticides for R. indica control, however effectiveness under field conditions are required.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
