Les conséquences de l'exposition a `la violence conjugale sont de plus en plus connues chez les enfants, ce qui suggère que le contexte de violence peut constituer une situation potentiellement traumatique. Cette étude a pour objectif de vérifier la mesure dans laquelle le degré d'exposition a `la violence conjugale engendre des symptômes de stress post-traumatique et de déterminer le rôle des conflits de loyauté dans cette relation. L'étude a été menée auprès de 46 enfants (26 filles et 20 garçons) qui sont âgés de 5 ans et demi a `12 ans et qui vivent avec leur mère dans des centres d'hébergement et de réinsertion sociale (CHRS) en France. Les résultats révèlent que le degré d'exposition a `la violence conjugale prédit un seul des cinq symptômes de stress post-traumatique, celui de l'anxiété. Les conflits de loyauté constituent un prédicteur de tous les symptômes de stress post-traumatique et ont un rôle modérateur sur la relation entre la violence conjugale et les symptômes traumatiques de l'enfant. Nos résultats indiquent que, lorsque la fréquence et l'intensité de la violence conjugale augmentent, les enfants rapportent davantage de symptômes dépressifs et de colère seulement s'ils vivent peu de conflits de loyauté. Cette étude démontre l'intérêt de poursuivre les recherches afin de préciser davantage le rôle des conflits de loyauté.Mots-clés : violence conjugale, enfant, symptômes de stress post-traumatique, conflits de loyauté.
L’objectif de cet article est d’analyser les liens entre la qualité de vie familiale de mères ayant un enfant en situation de handicap et la représentation que les mères ont de leur rôle maternel, de leur enfant, et des affects liés à la représentation de ce dernier. Notre échantillon est constitué de 34 mères ayant un enfant en situation de handicap, âgé de 11 à 55 mois. Les résultats révèlent que plus les mères sont satisfaites de leur qualité de vie familiale, plus leurs perceptions de l’enfant sont valorisantes. Elles se décrivent également comme plus satisfaites dans leur rôle de mère et déclarent ressentir davantage d’émotions positives, de joie et de fierté. À l’inverse, lorsque lesmères expriment des conséquences négatives importantes sur la vie de la famille, elles se focalisent davantage sur les difficultés de l’enfant. Elles se perçoivent alors comme plus soucieuses et éprouvent davantage de culpabilité, de tristesse, d’anxiété et de peur quand elles sont avec leur enfant ou pensent à lui.
