Objetivo: mostrar un panorama de la parálisis cerebral infantil (PCI), su presentación clínica y las alteraciones asociadas con las cuales cursan estos pacientes. Material y Métodos. 1s un estudio retrospectivo, observacional y transversal de una serie de casos, realizada en pacientes atendidos en el Centro de Rehabilitación Infantil Teletón Aguascalientes durante el periodo comprendido del año 2003 al año 20I3, la información fue recolectada de los expedientes clínicos y analizada con estadística descriptiva. Resultados. Se obtuvo un universo de trabajo de I002 pacientes, de los cuales I52 no cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión, siendo la muestra flnal de 850 pacientes, de donde se obtuvieron los siguientes resultados: el tipo de parálisis cerebral infantil más frecuente de acuerdo a las alteraciones del tono y movimiento es la de tipo espástica con un 76% (n=646 pacientes); de acuerdo a la clasiflcación de la función motora gruesa (GMr, por sus siglas en inglés) predomina el nivel V con un 39.29% (n=334 pacientes); de acuerdo a la distribución anatómica la más frecuente fue la cuadriparesia con un 58.59% (n=498 pacientes) y dentro de las alteraciones asociadas, las auditivas y de la comunicación se presentaron en el 42.58% (n=362 pacientes) de los casos, entre otras. Conclusión. 1ste estudio nos muestra que más del 50% de estos pacientes presentan afectación de las cuatro extremidades, que el 39.29% de los niños con PCI están dentro del nivel V de la GMr, siendo dependientes en todas sus actividades de la vida diaria.
