A Psicologia Hospitalar é um campo de atuação onde a investigação e o tratamento giram em torno dos aspectos psíquicos do sujeito que adoece. Aspectos psicológicos tais como sentimentos, lembranças, comportamentos, pensamentos que podem ser considerados como fator de manutenção, causa, agravamento e/ou desencadeamento do processo de adoecimento. Neste contexto, é que o psicólogo atua através da palavra no registro do simbólico, onde busca junto com o sujeito compreender o sentido e o significado da doença. OBJETIVO: Apresentar o Serviço de Psicologia no Hospital da Mulher Prof. Dr. José Aristodemo Pinotti – CAISM. MÉTODO: A Psicologia atua neste hospital há acerca de 30 anos na assistência e no ensino. Atualmente a equipe é composta por 5 psicólogas, que atuam dentro das áreas de Ginecologia, Neonatologia, Obstetrícia e Oncologia, em ambulatórios e unidades de internação, por meio atendimentos individuais e/ou em grupo. No campo do ensino, a Psicologia auxilia na especialização de novos profissionais através do Programa de Aprimoramento Profissional, da Faculdade de Medicina da Unicamp. RESULTADOS: Nos últimos cinco anos, foram atendimento cerca de 42.505 pacientes e/ou familiares. Sendo no ano de 2011 cerca de 9.103 atendimentos; no ano de 2012 cerca de 8.333, seguidos do ano de 2013 com 8.185, 2014 com 8.468 e 2015 com 8.416. CONCLUSÃO: Frente aos 30 anos de atuação da Psicologia no contexto hospitalar do CAISM, percebe-se que é extrema importância e relevância o trabalho do psicólogo, uma vez que o mesmo auxilia pacientes, familiares e equipe no doloroso processo de adoecimento e tratamento.
