Pristimantis reichlei is a widely distributed species, occurring in the Amazonian forests of Bolivia, Peru and Brazil. However, little information is available on its natural history or breeding biology. Here we document for the first time the parental care and the clutch size of this species. Parthenogenesis is presumed.
Numbers of ventral and subcaudal scales and solid maxillary teeth distinguish the latter from congeners and differentiate the two subspecies (T. a. attenuata and T. a. boliviana) (Walker 1945). In Bolivia the known distribution of the spe-cies includes the departments of Cochabamba, La Paz, and
Scott 1994) in a mature secondary forest and abandoned fallow crop, we encountered an adult male Anolis punctatus (76 mm SVL) on a leaf of a Tree Begonia (Begonia cf. parviflora) 1.90 m above the ground (Fig. 1) in an abandoned fallow crop near Yanamayu, Carrasco National Park, Cochabamba, Bolivia (17°23'13.14"S, 65°15'23.30"W; 1,005 m asl; Fig. 2) in the Yungas Boliviano-Peruanos ecoregion (Ibisch and Merida 2003). We collected the anole under permit MMAYANMABCCGDF/DGBAP/MEG Nº 0053/2019, extracted and preserved muscle tissue in 96% ethanol, and deposited the specimen in the Museo de Historia Natural Alcide d'Orbigny (MHNC-R 3200). Based on characters described in Avila-Pires (1995), Duellman (2005), and Ayala-Varela and Carvajal-Campos (2020) (Fig. 3), we identified
Abstract:One adult female of Atractus occipitoalbus (Jan, 1862) was collected in a mature secondary forest in Valle de Sacta, Province Chapare, Department of Cochabamba, Bolivia. This new record confirms the presence of the species in Bolivia, and provides a new locality in the country.
Erythrolamprus macrosomus (Amaral, 1936) is a snake recently revalidated to the species level, with a known distribution in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. We discovered a single specimen in Bolivia from the Department of Cochabamba, that corroborates this species in the country and extends its distribution westward.
