Zusammenfassung Karl Mannheim und Pierre Bourdieu sind zwei der wenigen SoziologInnen, die einen Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit im Bereich der Soziologie der Soziologie haben. Es finden sich bei Bourdieu jedoch kaum Bezüge zu Mannheim, und in der Sekundärliteratur zu Bourdieu wird Mannheim daher auch nicht als Einfluss genannt. Es lassen sich aber in den Schriften Bourdieus Parallelen zur Mannheim'schen "Wissenssoziologie" finden. Übereinstimmungen finden sich darüber hinaus im Ziel ihrer Arbeiten, da beide damit eine aufklärerische Intention verfolgen und wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse als Mittel der (politischen) Veränderung betrachten.
