Исследование в Республике Татарстан выполнялось при поддержке гранта «Oxford Russia Fellowship».В статье представлены результаты сравнительного исследования журналистских социальных полей Татарстана и Крыма, которые позволяют проанализировать, как границы высказываний устанавливаются журналистами в двух регионах, различающихся по степени де-факто автономии от федерального центра РФ и вовлеченности в геополитический конфликт. На основе 70 качественных интервью и с опорой на теорию полей Пьера Бурдье и новую теорию цензуры в статье показано, как представители власти накладывают санкции на СМИ и журналистов и как эти санкции различаются в указанных регионах. Предлагается также обсуждение стратегий, с помощью которых журналисты избегают санкций или удерживают собственный капитал в рамках поля. Особенное внимание уделяется стратегиям самоцензуры и выстраиванию границ высказываний среди журналистов. На основе биографических интервью с журналистами, работающими в Татарстане и в аннексированном РФ Крыму, показано, что в более автономных регионах, где нет конфликта, социальный капитал имеет сравнительно более важное значение для журналистов, чем другие типы капитала. Это означает, что связи между людьми важны для успеха журналиста, и в таких случаях журналисты разделяют свои высказывания на те, которые они могут четко формулировать в публичном пространстве, и те, которые они могут формулировать только анонимно или «за кулисами». В регионах с меньшей автономией и в период конфликта сравнительно более важную роль играет символический капитал, то есть воспроизводство доминирующих дискурсов, которые поддерживают легитимность одной из сторон конфликта. В такой ситуации журналисты избирают стратегии мобилизационной самоцензуры, но в силу меньшего значения социального капитала не нуждаются при этом в уходе «за кулисы».
