The paper considers modern methodological approaches of Russian and foreign authors to assess the investment attractiveness of the industry. The object of analysis is a new industry telemedicine. As a result of the study, industry specifics and factors affecting its investment attractiveness were identified. The work also explores methodological approaches to assessing investment attractiveness and investment efficiency. The uniqueness of the study consist in the fact that previously there were no works, approaches and methods analyzing investment attractiveness in terms of their applicability to the selected industry. Based on the results of a critical analysis of the proposed approaches and methods for assessing investment attractiveness, requirements were formed that need to be considered when developing and applying methodological approaches to assessing the investment attractiveness of telemedicine.
ObjectiveCarbohydrate metabolism disorders (CMD) significantly impact the development and progression of all forms of ischemic heart disease, and inflammation is regarded as a general pathogenetic link between CMD and ischemic heart disease.MethodsA total of 601 patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (MI) (STEMI), admitted within 24 hours from the onset of symptoms during 1 year, were included in this registry study. The blood levels of inflammation markers were measured at days 10–14 with further follow up at 1 year.ResultsThe analysis of acute-phase percutaneous coronary intervention impact on the 1-year outcomes showed that endovascular revascularization significantly improved the 1-year prognosis of STEMI patients both with and without CMD. The analysis of inflammation markers showed significantly higher levels of interleukin (IL)-6 and sCD40L in MI patients with diabetes mellitus, and impaired glucose tolerance. Additionally, the patients with impaired glucose tolerance had significantly higher IL-12 levels. In the diabetic MI patients, the odds ratio of a poor 1-year outcome was high for patients with a high Killip classification of acute heart failure upon admission.ConclusionPersistent inflammation in STEMI patients with CMD undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention might be responsible for vascular complications within 1 year after MI. Comorbid diabetes mellitus or impaired glucose tolerance can amplify the significance of the inflammatory response for the development of adverse 1-year outcomes.
The pandemic is a watershed event that has prompted both an evaluation of the achievements of information and communications technology (ICT) and also a re-evaluation of the prospects for developing social processes compatible with ICT. Much has been already been accomplished in Russia and throughout the world. But in the current pandemic, telemedicine is facing new challenges. This article discusses the state of the art in telemedicine and the prospects for its development in the changing conditions wrought by the pandemic. Examples are provided of the solutions that telemedicine can offer in such a difficult period, and the risks due to widespread use of telemedicine are analyzed. The impact of telemedicine is extensive with consequences for technology, management, and law. This article is a multidisciplinary study of telemedicine from the perspective of management and law. The article examines how telemedicine technologies have been implemented and developed, the obstacles to telemedicine's advance in various countries, and the legislative frameworks that governs it. The article's interdisciplinary study is based on an integrated methodology which combines: a formal logical approach to analysis of the legislation concerning telemedicine; a comparison of the development of telemedicine across several countries; and a sociological method to identify the attitude of Russian medical staff toward telemedicine and its impact. Although telemedicine has been developed and regulated separately by each country, there are general development trends, such as collection and analysis of electronic health records (EHR), devices and systems to simplify communication between doctors and with chronically ill patients, and others. Legislation is one of the significant barriers to the development of telemedicine in different countries. However, the pandemic has been a catalyst for legislative change, and it is precisely those changes that will eliminate the key problem in telemedicine that beset Russia where telemedicine now resembles separate pieces in a puzzle.
