The article presents the main results of scientific research of representatives of three scientific schools in Ukraine, in particular Zaporizhzhia National University, Donetsk State University of Management, Azov maritime institute National University "Odesa Maritime Academy", which allowed to study the processes taking place in the digitalization of Ukraine's economic and business system from different perspectives. The authors have conducted a retrospective analysis of the formation of conceptual and categorical tools for the data collection digitization, processing, and storage of databases, analyzing the results, and diagnosing prospects for multilevel production systems' economic and business activity in the long run.
In the authors' previous studies of the state phenomenon with the status of "weak state" and signs of this type of political system, Ukraine was considered a vivid example of a state of this type. However, since the beginning of Russian military intervention in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, we have witnessed the rapid transition of the Ukrainian state and political system from weak state status to a powerful one. In this study, the authors consider differences in the definitions of "powerful" and "strong" states and prove that Ukraine, having left the ranks of weak states, has not yet acquired the status of a strong state, but has the signs of a powerful one. It is also noted that the conditions and terms of such a transit of the state and political system are unique. In the authors' opinion, three main requisites of the fast transit of Ukraine to the status of a powerful state have been substantiated: the presence of a strong political leader and a particular mentality of the Ukrainian people. The research by Guillermo O'Donneland Philip Schmitter with their idea of the resocialization of citizens, i.e., adoption and assimilation of new democratic values, norms, and behavior models by the population of the state as an essential factor in obtaining durability and democracy by the state, served as the methodological basis for choosing these categorical characteristics. Furthermore, therole of the "aggressive neighbor" factor in acquiring a new status by a political agent has also been substantiated.
The main approaches to optimizing the competitive advantages of economic entities in Ukraine in terms of implementing the main provisions of the sustainable development concept, taking into account the criterion of environmental efficiency of these processes have been considered. The criterion of eco-efficiency has been recognized as a key one both at the present stage of formation and development of the domestic market of environmentally-friendly commodities and in the long run. The dynamics and main directions of the processes of the greening the functioning of economic entities by industry have been studied. The mechanism for elaborating the strategy of economic entities development for the production and sale of environmentally-friendly commodities (provision of relevant services), a procedure and algorithm for certification of economic entities by the criterion of environmental efficiency of domestic production systems in accordance with international standards have been conceived.
The main approaches to optimizing the competitive advantages of economic entities of Ukraine in the context of the implementation of the main provisions of the concept of sustainable development, taking into account the criterion of environmental efficiency, are considered. Producers of environmental innovations should take into account the impact of environmental pressures and negative environmental impacts when assessing their chances of market success. There are radical environmental innovations that have no direct analogues. For this type of innovation in the analysis of demand and assessment of market prospects are advised to consider the following factors: a critical consumer of capital, critical suitability of the product, the critical minimum level of income, the critical level of risk, and the critical amount of free time consumer. The speed of overcoming these barriers affects the time required to introduce environmental innovations to the market, start generating demand, and increase sales. For the formation of the domestic market of environmentally friendly products, it is necessary to create an adapted regulatory framework to stimulate producers and create a competitive environment. The mechanism for developing a strategy for the development of economic entities for the production of environmentally friendly goods is presented. The strategy is presented as a generalizing model of the actions necessary to achieve the goal. It is advisable to carry out strategic actions according to a certain algorithm, which is a logical sequence. The procedure for certification of environmentally friendly products and the algorithm of this process based on the criterion of environmental efficiency of production systems are proposed. Certification allows you to get complete and reliable information about the production of environmentally friendly goods at all stages, gives consumers a guarantee of compliance with the norms and standards that confirm the environmental purity of products. Objective comprehensive identification of the needs of the main consumer groups gradually forms the basis for the functioning of the market of environmentally friendly products. The diagnostic approach to its formation should be used in combination with the optimization approach, which is implemented through the formation and implementation of an appropriate strategy, the development of the legislative framework, the structure and infrastructure of the market.
The consistent evolution of technology around the world creates new production tools and opportunities for different economic agents. As a result, new economic structures are emerging as a result of industrial revolutions. Today, the digital economy is seen as the backbone of the fourth industrial revolution, as there is a clear shift in the underlying technology and signs of a technological and economic paradigm shift. The current stage of the industrial revolution is associated with the Internet communication technologies development, which has significantly changed the technology of business processes and has been called "digitalisation". Thus, the fourth industrial revolution and the third wave of globalisation are based on the digital economy. The article explores trends in the development of the Ukrainian economy under the influence of ubiquitous digitalisation. Digital transformation changes traditional business models of organisations, allowing them to occupy profitable niches in global markets, raising the prestige of business and the state as a whole. In today's environment, the level of digitalisation illustrates the degree of companies' competitiveness and is a determining factor in development strategy. To analyse the processes of digitalisation and determine the place of Ukraine in the digital world, the article identifies and describes four zones of digital transformation, which are particular to the world economies. It is determined that Ukraine has fallen into a zone of prospective economies, where digital infrastructure is limited. Still, digital development is accelerating, indicating the potential for digitalisation to flourish, which will benefit economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and long-term transformation. Ukraine's integral digital transformation index score is placed at 2.81 out of a possible 5 in 2021. It was determined that the main barriers to the digital transformation development in Ukrainian business include ineffective legislation, insufficient funding and low digital literacy of the population. However, the highest score among the index components was given to companies' overall level of digital transformation. A positive result of the survey is confirmation of increased investment in the digital technologies development in Ukraine: priority investments in this area include customer interaction, data analytics and HR management.
