Highlights • The original Idso (1981) and Niemela, Raisanen and Savijarvi (2001) models performed better than the other models with errors less than 5.0% when compared with the measured values. • The performances of all the models improved significantly after calibration. • The calibrated Guest (1998) model performed best. • The proposed model showed better performance with low statistical errors than all the existing empirical models tested, and conform greatly (R 2 =0.88) with the measured data implying that the calibration of the coefficients of developed models locally is very important.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
