Neonatal jaundice must be wary of because the pathological type can aggravate and cause ikterus ensefalopati with permanent severe disability. Method : Descriptive research during April to June 2019 at Muhammadiyah Hospital Gresik with a population of all infants with neonatal jaundice by recording all risk faktors for neonatal jaundice. Results : for 3 months, 19 cases of pathological neonatal jaundice were found in 722 deliveries (2.6%) with 52.7% of cases having risk faktors based on an understanding of the process of bilirubin metabolisme. Conclusion : risk faktors for neonatal ikterus can be reviewed and arranged based on an understanding of the process of bilirubin metabolisme and it is strongly recommended to look for every pregnant woman to detect the possibility of pathological neonatal ikterus, prevent with good education and arrange comprehensive management to prevent ikterus ensefalopati

Keywords : pathologic neonatal jaundice, General Hospital Muhammadiyah Gresik, bilirubin metabolisme
