In this study, eect of glycidylisobutyl oligomeric silsesquioxane (G-POSS) and 1.1 -carbonyl-bis-caprolactam (CBC) (1 wt.%) on the friction and wear performance of polyamide 6 (PA6) and short glass ber (SGF) (10 and 20 wt.%) reinforced PA6 composites were investigated. Adhesive wear tests were carried out by using a tribometer in block-on-ring conguration (ASTM G77), in sliding conditions, without lubricants and in air. Tests were carried out at sliding speed of 1.6 m/s (511 rpm) and applied load values of 25, 50 and 75 N. Wear rate was calculated using weight loss per unit sliding distance. The results showed that, the friction force increases with the increasing load. It was found that the wear resistance of PA6 improved considerably after doping with CBC.

This study was performed to expand the usage area of phenylene sulfide (PSS) by reducing its cost without deteriorating the material properties. For this purpose, mechanical, thermo‐mechanical and abrasion tests were conducted to composite materials obtained by adding carbon fiber (CF), basalt fiber (BF), zeolite, and bentonite into PPS, and the effects of additive type and ratio were examined. For the test samples, fabricated by the melt blending, the fiber content was 10 wt.%, while zeolite, and bentonite ratios were 1, 5, and 10 wt.%. According to tensile and abrasion test results, zeolite, and bentonite improved the properties of fiber‐reinforced PPS by showing a synergistic effect. It has been demonstrated in this research that the cost of fiber‐reinforced PPS matrix composites, which are widely used in advanced engineering applications, can be reduced by using natural minerals zeolite and bentonite without sacrificing material properties. Findings obtained from mechanical and wear tests, revealed that the composition containing 10, 10, and 80 wt.%, zeolite, CF, and PPS, respectively, exhibited optimum material properties. BF for PPS has been shown to be an alternative reinforcement to CF, as it exhibits the lowest wear rate and better interacts with particles in the matrix.

In recent years, the use of additive manufacturing technologies especially fused deposition modeling (FDM), 3D printing, have been raised popularity. Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is one of the most widely used materials in FDM because it is suitable for biodegradation due to environmental problems. Therefore, to improve the properties of PLA and extend its lifespan, the material to be added to its structure must be of natural origin. In this study, mechanical, thermal, thermo‐mechanical, tribological, and morphological properties of composite materials manufactured using bamboo filled PLA filament by FDM method were investigated. The thermal properties of the samples were investigated by differential scanning calorimeter analysis, thermomechanical properties by dynamic mechanical thermal analysis, mechanical properties by tensile and three‐point bending test, and surface hardness by Shore D test. Since there are few studies in the literature examining the effects of 3D printing parameters on tribological properties, in this study, various layer thicknesses, top/bottom pattern, specimen face, and build plate surface type on the wear behavior were examined. Worn surfaces and fractured surfaces were investigated by SEM.

In this study, die, punch and sheet metal are designed in Solidworks package program, and thenradius are given to die and punch, and stress analyzes are examined in Ansys package program. The resultsof the analysis resulted as we expected, and as the amount of radius we gave increased, the stressesdecreased. The aim of this study is to show the effect of radius in the deep drawing process and to showthat both time saving and economy can be achieved thanks to analysis programs such as Ansys packageprogram.
