Zapoteca scutellifera (LEGUMINOSAE): A NEW OCCURRENCE IN MATO GROSSO, WITH KEY FOR IDENTIFICATION OF GENUS SPECIES IN BRAZIL ABSTRACTThe paper presents Zapoteca scutellifera (Leguminosae) as a new occurrence for the flora of the state of Mato Grosso, accompanied with a key to identify the species of the genus in Brazil, as well as photos and taxonomic comments. The description given for the species was based on four exsiccates from Colíder, Mato Grosso, Brazil. While the dichotomous key was structured based on collected specimens and specialized literature. In addition to expanding the specie to the state, the work also presents important morphological information that was not known until then, such as the morphology of the seeds of Z. scutellifera, which are rhomboid, marbled, with open pleurogram only at the basal end, with cruciform shape, considered a taxonomic novelty for the genus.
