This paper investigates the effects of collaborative entrepreneurship and diversity management on entrepreneurial performance. Research methodology: A cross-section survey of 110 employees from the construction and auto-service SME in Nigeria was adopted, and multiple regression analysis via SPSS version 15 was used to analyze the hypothesized relationships.
Results:The result shows a statistically significant relationship for external collaborative entrepreneurship and diversity management on firm performance. Limitations: The inability to collect data from all the major cosmopolitan cities in Nigeria where a larger pool of ethnicallydiverse workforce resides limits the generalizability of the finding. Contribution: Entrepreneurs and small and medium scale enterprises in construction and auto works will find this work useful for effective collaboration.
This paper analyzed the adoption rate of root and tuber technologies in Anambra state Agricultural Development Programme. Specific objectives were to ascertain the root and tuber expansion programme (RTEP) technologies, find out the extension methods and level of access to extension services among members of farmers based groups and to assess the farmers' awareness on various varieties of root and tuber technologies. Three hypotheses were formulated to test the effect of variables on the adoption rate. Stratified random sampling techniques were used to determine the sample size of 112 including the farmers and RTEP staff. Findings showed that various varieties and technologies promoted in the area by RTEP were ABANA 85, ADAKA 96 and EKPE 88 for Yam, while TMS 305SS, TMS 30 and TMS 30572 for Cassava and White P. 179 and RED P. 162 for Potatoes. Comparatively the income levels of the farmers remained unchanged but they expressed satisfaction with the use of RTEP technologies.
Employing the regression model, this study examines the effect of small and medium enterprises on employment generation in Nigeria. The findings revealed that small and medium enterprise development and per capita income are statistically significant in explaining employment generation in Nigeria while commercial bank credits to SMEs, infrastructure, foreign aids and human capital development are statistically insignificant in explaining employment generation in Nigeria. The study recommends among others that the government should adopt high import tariff and low import quotas to encourage our local industries grow and create adequate employment thereby reducing d on imported goods.
