With the high rate of economical and social development, Ho Chi Minh City has been attaching immigrants to work, study and live. The immigrants have made the population increased that resulted in overloading infrastructure. The study has done in order to build a database on the status of housing and infrastructure in the concentrated immigrant areas in Ho Chi Minh City . Results of the survey of 1,000 immigrants in the concentrated immigrant areas in 5 Districts assigned throughout HCMC showed: (1) 92.6 % houses are rented, (2) 95.6 % immigrants are living in low quality houses, reach Vietnamese standard for housing at level 4, (3) 57.6% immigrants live in the area less than 6m2/person, (4) the condition of infrastructures (power supply, water supply, sewerage, garbage collection, toilets, information networks and roads) are deficiency, poor quality and high service prices.
The study was carried out to set up the evaluation criteria that is satisfactory the level of a green industrial park. A set of criteria consists of 2 parts: screening and evaluation criteria, to evaluate the 2 objects: Investment company IZ infrastructure & factories within the industrial zone. Researchers have applied this set of criteria to evaluate the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, HCMC. From the results of the evaluation by the criteria, researchers have proposed 6 solutions and roadmap for implementation of solutions to meet the requirements of a green industrial park.
The multi-decision support model is developed and demontrated to minimise the cost of transport and treatment of municipal solid waste under the effected of socio and environment. The tool is simple, easy to upgrade to fit with the local condition, easy and fast running (some minutes). The model is used to compare the operation of MSW system if there are some changes in impact factors. The results of model show: (1) the distribution of amount of MSW from sources to treatment plants, (2) the selected treatment technologies, its capacity and location, (3) cost analysis of transport, treatment of MSW and the income. In the current situation of HCMC (case study 2), the model proposed 2 treatment tecnologies in 20 years planning, called bath anaerobic digestion technology and bioreactor landfill, with the treatment amount of 70% and 30%, respectively. In case of the planned land for treatment zone is not reached as case study 2, incineration technology will be a good choice.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
