Показано, що коливання температур усередині сонячного реактора істотно заважає встановленню та підтриманню стабільного та ефективного процесу його роботи. Наявні на сьогодні технології не дають змоги стабільно підтримувати високу температуру в сонячних реакторах. Застосування механізму змінної апертури може усунути цей недолік. На сонячному імітаторі потужністю 7 кВт апробовано розроблену та запропоновану програму, що керує змінною апертурою залежно від сили потоку сонячного імітатора. Встановлено, що температура газу в реакторі підвищується з ростом сили потоку сонячного імітатора за нелінійною залежністю. Разом з тим виявлено, що вона також зростає зі збільшенням діаметра відкриття апертури. При цьому час до встановлення квазіпостійної температури, в основному, залежить від діаметра відкриття апертури та коливається від 5 до 7 год. Для встановлення квазіпостійної температури запропонований механізм керування обчислює необхідний діаметр відкриття апертури на кожному рівні вхідного теплового потоку. Отже, незалежно від сили потоку сонячного імітатора можна досягти стабільного за температурою стану реактора, керуючи діаметром відкриття апертури. Це свідчить, що запропонований алгоритм обертання змінної апертури сонячного реактора можна рекомендувати для подальших розробок програм управління з прогнозними моделями.
