New economic history is a scientific school that appeared as the alternative for the classical political economy. Nowadays it goes through the serious changes. This paper focuses on the key subjects of new economic history and evaluates the historical potential of this school in regional studies. The paper is based on the analyses of contemporary foreign researches that have united the regional approach and the methodology of new economic history.
New economic history is a modern stream in the economic theory research, which combines institutional and interdisciplinary approach and is based on economical, sociological and historical-anthropological research methods. Regional aspect of economic history research allows to analyze the problems of legal consciousness and legal culture among Russian entrepreneurs during the industrial revolution from the sight of micro historical approach. This research is focused on the ways of commercial conflicts solution, attitude towards the patent law, as well as competitive methods among the entrepreneurs in Tula as the representative aspects of market economy formation in regions during the modernization.
