The fractional composition of an oil product is a characteristic that expresses a major feature: boiling in a certain temperature range. Fractional distillation FD is affected by many physicochemical properties of oil products [1][2][3].At Polotsk State University (PSU), we have drawn up an FD model [4][5][6][7][8] ~v kv(1-v) (1)in which v is the volume fraction of the production distillate; "c = (T-Tsb)/(Teb -7) is the dimensionless temperature parameter; Tsb and Teb are the temperatures respectively of the start of boiling and end of boiling; T is the current boiling point of the product; a the symmetry parameter for the FD curve; and k the FD rate parameter for the arithmetic mean boiling temperature of the oil product. There is an advantage over chromatographic analysis of oil products in that the determination of the true boiling points with an ARN-2 apparatus [9] enables one to obtain the FD curve relatively easily, and this has a major feature: the function describing the FD has the property of integral additivity, i.e., in which V i and v m are the volume fractions of component i and the entire mixture. Other forms of the additivity equation for the FD have also been derived [6]. The FD curve is related to other major features of the oil products, in particular the true boiling points. One can use the features of the integral additivity FD distribution to handle the compounding of oil products. Basic features in simulation from the FD have been given in [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14].The fractional compositions of oil products may be determined not only by standard methods [15] such as ASTM-D86 but also by automated methods based on equipment of types LAFS, FS-380, ASDA, and Minidist. Some automatic FD analyzers in fact reproduce the automated laboratory analysis methods but are large in size and heavy (70-90 kg), and one complete analysis cycle takes about 1 h.A knowledge of a suitable mathematical model can provide a substantially different approach to automatic determination of the FD curve. Scientists at PSU and the "lzmeritel'" plant (Novopolotsk) have devised the Polotsk-1 computer suite Polotsk State University and Novopolotsk "Izmeritel'" Plant.
