The nonlinear behavior of surface charges is here investigated under simplest ideal conditions. A new single equation is deduced from the well-known descriptions, which govern the cold electron plasma motion, for cases when the dependence on all spatial coordinates must be taken into account. It opens new possibilities to reveal and describe conditions of the existence of nonlinear surface charge waves with a solitary structure when there are two different scales of a spatial non-uniformity of wave characteristics for different coordinates in the boundary plane. The simple method to determine parameters, which are necessary for the propagation of surface charge perturbations along the plasma boundary, is also described.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
