The element of creativity in learning mathematics in elementary school is lack of attention. Whereas, in solving the mathematic problem, creative thinking and ideas are needed in formulating and solving mathematical models of mathematic problems. Creative thoughts and ideas will emerge and develop if the process of learning mathematics in the classroom uses appropriate learning approach. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of students' mathematical creative thinking ability on Powtoon-Assisted Group to Group Exchange and Talking Chips learning models to students' creative thinking ability. This research is a correlative quantitative research. The population was all the sixth grade students of Pedurungan Tengah 1 State Primary School in Semarang. The samples were class VI C (experiment 1), VI D (experiment 2), and VI B (control). The data were obtained from a post-test with open-ended answers. The analysis result of Anava test indicated that there was a difference on the mean of students' creative thinking ability in those three classes. Based on the Scheffe Test calculation, students' mathematical creative thinking ability with GGE model was better than the class with conventional learning model. Another result of Scheffe Test calculation indicated that students' mathematical creative thinking ability with Talking Chips model was better than the class with conventional learning. In addition, the Simple Linear Regression equation in both classes with GGE and Talking Chips models resulted in positive value equation. It could be concluded that Powtoon-Assisted Group to Group Exchange and Talking Chips learning models have a positive influence on students' creative thinking ability.
This study aims to: 1) examine the challenges teachers encounter in implementing project-based learning in 2013 curriculum, 2) to examine teachers' strategies in integrating project-based learning in 2013 curriculum. This research finds several obstacles faced by teachers and strategies that can be done in the implementation of project-based learning, they are: 1) the obstacle in terms of students' capability can be overcome by familiarizing them to complete projects; 2) the obstacle in terms of indiscipline can be solved by optimizing the teacher's role as supervisor; 3) the time constraint is overcome by some alternative ways; 4) the obstacle in terms of equipment availability is addressed by modifying projects; 5) the obstacle in terms of student's inequality is overcome by forming propori sembang group; 6) the cost issues are resolved by using classroom cash or selecting projects suitable for the available resources. Another positive finding is that teachers should have the confidence and commitment in implementing project-based learning. Based on these results, it can be concluded that most teachers and even experienced teachers will experience difficulties and challenges when trying to implement project-based learning. However, experienced teachers have strategies to overcome obstacles, thus project-based learning can still be implemented.
As the development of Science and Technology also influence the development of learning media. Media learning is one of the determinants of student learning success. Utilization of android technology so far is not only used as a means of communication, or just entertainment but now can be developed for learning media. This research aims to develop powerpoint for android with Think Talk Write model to improve understanding of SMP students concept. The research method used is Research and Development and the type of research used is ADDIE. (1) Analyze, student needs analysis shows students need learning media. (2) Design, the products produced in this study media powerpoint for android. (3) Development, media developed then validated by 84% media experts, 82% material experts, and 85% design learning experts so it is said to be valid. (4) Implementation, student responses in class VII C achievement rate 89% are in the practical category. (5) Evaluation, the data in this study consists of preliminary data in the form of values obtained through pretest and final data in the form of values obtained through posttest. The result of the second posttest of the class is tested equality of two averages (right-t test) obtained α = 0.05 obtained t_table = 1.669 and t_count = 3.251 because Since t_count> t_table then H0 rejected and H1 accepted, so it can be concluded learning using Powerpoint for Android with Think Talk Write model to improve concept understanding is said to be valid, practical, and effective than the conventional learning model.
Factual conditions require the development of teaching materials in thematic learning using a scientific approach to improve the available teaching materials. This study aims to: 1) examine the factual conditions for the use of teaching materials in thematic learning in the 2013 curriculum; 2) knowing the development of scientific based thematic teaching materials for fourth grade elementary students; 3) knowing expert judgment on the feasibility of scientific-based thematic teaching materials for fourth grade elementary students; 4) knowing the effect of the use of scientifically based thematic teaching materials on the learning achievement of fourth grade elementary school students; 5) knowing the teacher's assessment of learning using thematically based thematic teaching materials for grade IV elementary school students; 6) knowing the response of students to learning using thematically based thematic teaching materials for fourth grade elementary school students. This study uses Development Research with qualitative and quantitative research designs. The development process uses the 4-D model of Thiagarajan, Semel and Semel which has been modified to be the stage of defining, designing, and developing. Teaching materials that have been validated by experts get the category of "very valid and without revision" from expert responses and teacher evaluations with agreed criteria, student responses to the use of teaching materials in learning get very good responses from students. The results of the trials using the experimental design The Before And After Design show that there is an effect of the use of scientifically based thematic teaching materials on the learning achievement of PPKn; 2) there is the influence of the use of scientifically based thematic teaching materials on social studies learning achievements; 3) there is the influence of the use of scientifically based thematic teaching materials on the learning achievement of science. Scientific based thematic teaching materials for Grade IV Primary School students can be used in learning.
