ABSTRAKDiabetes Mellitus (DM) merupakan penyakit degeneratif yang membutuhkan pengelolaan jangka panjang dalam mengontrol kadar gula darah sehingga meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderita. Kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap penyakit diabetes mellitus, pencegahannya, dan cara penggunaan obat antidiabetes menyebabkan prevalensi kejadian penyakit ini semakin meningkat disetiap tahunnya. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang penyakit DM dan cara penggunaan obat antidiabetes. Peserta kegiatan pengabdian adalah Ibu-ibu Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) di dusun Beji, Kecamatan Wates, Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Program pengabdian meliputi edukasi atau penyuluhan tentang penyakit DM, cara penggunaan obat antidiabetes, serta diskusi tentang DM. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan penyuluhan, sejumlah 33 orang peserta telah menerima informasi mengenai DM dengan baik. Terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap pengetahuan masyarakat dilihat dari persentase nilai pretest yaitu 56,97% dan persentase nilai postest sebesar 82,42%. Lack of public knowledge about diabetes mellitus, its prevention, and how to use antidiabetic drugs causes the prevalence of this disease to increase every year. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase public knowledge about DM disease and how to use antidiabetic drugs. Participants in the service activity are Family Welfare Development (PKK) women in Beji hamlet, Wates District, Kulon Progo Regency. The service program includes education or counseling about DM disease, how to use antidiabetic drugs, and discussions about DM. Based on the results of the outreach activities, a total of 33 participants had received information about DM well. There was a significant increase in people's knowledge as seen from the percentage of the pretest score of 56.97% and the percentage of posttest score of 82.42%.
