Bu araştırmanın amacı, Liselere Geçiş Sisteminin ortaokul matematik öğretmenlerinin görüşleri doğrultusunda incelenmesini sağlamaktır. Çalışmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın evrenini, 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılı güz yarıyılında Malatya ili sınırları içerisindeki Battalgazi (245) ve Yeşilyurt (218) merkez ilçelerinde yer alan 463 ortaokul matematik öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi Malatya ili merkez ilçeleri olan Battalgazi ve Yeşilyurt ilçelerinde görev yapmakta olan 238 matematik öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, 23 sorudan oluşan ve Çetin (2019) tarafından geliştirilen “LGS Sistemine Yönelik Matematik Öğretmenlerinin Farkındalık Ölçeği” ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırmada istatistik paket programı kullanılarak verilerin analizi sağlanmıştır. Verilerin normal dağılımını incelemek için Kolmogorov-Smirnov testi yapılmıştır. Verilerin normal dağılıma uygun olmadığı durumlarda non-parametrik testler kullanılmıştır. LGS Sistemine Yönelik Matematik Öğretmenlerinin Farkındalık Ölçeğinin güvenirlik analizi için Cronbach’s Alpha değerinin 0.87 olarak bulunması yüksek güvenirliği ifade etmektedir. Sonuç olarak, LGS’ ye yönelik görüşlerin cinsiyet, mezuniyet derecesi ve mezun oldukları fakülteler değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği, kıdem değişkenine göre anlamlı bir fark göstermediği belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada sınavın öğretmen ve öğrenciler üzerinde baskı ve stres oluşturduğu, sınavın süresinin yeterli olmadığı, soruların açık ve anlaşılır olmadığı, sınav ile öğretim programının uyumlu olmadığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Sonuçların sınav sisteminde düzenlenmesi yoluna gidilebileceği yöntemler önerilmiştir.
