Coastal areas have become very important places for societies all over the world. In addition to their economic and social values in the society, coastal areas are habitats for sea creatures and help flood control through their rich flora and fauna possibilities. Coastal natural resources promote economic and social development, playing an important role in the development of countries. In recent years, the lack of legal integration has been reported as a major issue in effective coastal zone management. In This study the coastal changes occurred over the years due to human influence in Samsun, Turkey was examined by using available aerial photographs in detail.
