ABSTRAKPenyakit degeneratif merupakan penyakit kronik menahun yang banyak mempengaruhi kualitas hidup serta produktivitas seseorang. Umumnya masyarakat baru memeriksakan diri setelah timbul gejala, padahal deteksi dini penyakit penting dilakukan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk upaya preventif dan meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang deteksi dini gejala, komplikasi, pencegahan, dan terapi penyakit degeneratif khususnya penyakit hipertensi, DM, aterosklerosis, osteoporosis kepada masyarakat di sekitar Klinik Mutiara Homecare Kelurahan Dwikora. Pengabdian masyarakat ini terdiri dari 2 kegiatan utama, yaitu pemeriksaan indeks massa tubuh, tekanan darah, gula darah, asam urat dan kolesterol dan pendidikan kesehatan bagi masyarakat tentang penyakit degeneratif. Hasil kegiatan didapatkan bahwa mayoritas memiliki tekanan darah sistolik <130 mmHg sebesar 60% dan tekanan darah diastolik < 90 mmHg sebesar 58%, memiliki Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) 25-29,9 kg/m2 (obesitas) sebesar 32%, kadar asam urat normal sebesar 66%, gula darah sewaktu < 140 mg/dL sebesar 86%, kolesterol total > 200 mg/dL sebesar 60%. Peningkatan kualitas kesehatan perlu dilakukan dengan membangun kesadaran dan peningkatan edukasi serta melakukan kontrol kesehatan secara teratur ke pusat kesehatan terdekat. Kata Kunci : Penyakit degeneratif, asam urat, gula darah, IMT, kolesterol ABSTRACTDegenerative disease is a chronic disease that affects the quality of life and productivity of a person.In general, people only have to check themselves after symptoms occur, even though early disease detection is important. The purpose of community service activites is preventive effort and increase knowledge about early detection of symptom, complication, prevention and treatment of degenerative diseases especially hypertension, DM, atherosclerosis and osteoporosis to the community around Mutiara Home Care Clinic, Dwikora Village. This community service consists of 2 main activites, namely examination of body mass index (BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid and cholesterol and public health education about degenerative diseases. The results of this community service activites were majority had systolic blood pressure of <130 mmHg (60,0%) and diastolic blood pressure of < 90 mmHg (58%), BMI of 25-29,9 kg/m2 (obesity) as many as 32%, normal uric acid levels (66%), blood sugar at one time < 140 mg/dL (86%), total cholesterol > 200 mg/dL (60%) The increase of the quality of health needs to be done by building awareness and increased education to community and control to the nearest health center. People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), battling stigma, discrimination and coping strategies in Medan, IndonesiaBackground: People living with HIV/AIDS have a multiple problem, PLWHA has a decreased physical abilities effect immunodeficiency, but also having a psychological and social problems also increase their burden. The health provider should be a place for PLWHA to get the right information about HIV/AIDS, but they follow to stigmatize and discriminate against them.Purpose: To describe coping PLWHA face up to stigma and discrimination in health provider.Methods: A qualitative with a descriptive phenomenological approach with population of this research was people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in Medan, Indonesia. The number of samples was of 10 respondent by purposive sampling technique. The criteria of the sample were PLWHA get treatment for ≥ 6 months and able to communication in Indonesia is well. Data collected with in-depth interviews and analysis by Nvivo version 12.0 trial.Result: Finding that four themes, the first; get stigmatize and discriminate from health workers, second; have a psychological impact, third; continue treatment to the health provider and fourth; Hoping in health services well.Conclusion: People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in Medan Indonesia still having a positive coping to face stigma and discrimination in health provider and they keep continue to get treatment in health provider.. Keyword: People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA); Battling; Stigma; Discrimination; Coping StrategiesPendahuluan: Pelayanan kesehatan yang seharusnya menjadi tempat orang dengan HIV/AIDS mendapatkan pengobatan dan informasi yang benar mengenai penyakitnya, justru ikut menstigma dan mendiskriminasikan mereka.Tujuan: Untuk menggambarkan stigma, koping dan harapan ODHA di pelayanan kesehatan.Metode: Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi deskriptif dengan populasinya orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA) di Kota Medan. Jumlah partisipan sebanyak 10 orang yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam dan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan software N.Vivo versi 12 trial.Hasil: Di dapatkan empat tema yaitu 1) Pernah mendapatkan stigma dan diskriminasi dari petugas kesehatan, 2) Pernah mengalalami dampak secara psikologis, 3) Tetap melanjutkan pengobatan ke pelayanan kesehatan, 4) Harapan pada layanan kesehatan.Simpulan: Orang dengan HIV/AIDS ODHA di kota Medan masih memiliki koping yang positif dalam menghadapi stigma dan diskriminasi sehingga ODHA tetap melanjutkan pengobatan di pelayanan kesehatan.
Tuberculosis is still a health problem both in Indonesian and in the world and is the leading cause of death. DOTS strategy is the tuberculosis control program. This program carried out by the health center Helvetia and the expeted number of patients with tuberculosis decreased. Quality of service is a form of activity undertaken by health services such a service, processes, and environment that meet or exceed expectations. The Satisfaction of a judgment given when the patients gets care. This study aims to determine the relationship of quality health Tuberculosis DOTS treatment strategy. The type of research used in this study is an analytic correlation using cross sectional method, samples in this study were patients who underwent Tuberculosis DOTS treatment strategy. The samples of the study was 48 respondents choose by consecutive sampling. Data were analysis of health care quality relationship with the level of satisfaction obtained significant value p = 0,003 and the value of r = 0,423. Then there is a relationship between the quality of health services with the level of satisfaction. It is advisable to further improve nursing services in order to increase the comfort and the health of patient.
Diabetes Mellitus is a long-term disease characterized by abnormal blood glucose levels. DM can cause several complications, one of which is Diabetic neuropathy which contributes to the occurrence of wounds, causing dry skin, anhidrosis; which makes it easier for the skin to become damaged and wounds that are difficult to heal and can cause infections that contribute to gangrene. To overcome this problem, people with diabetes mellitus must have knowledge about diabetic wounds which include early detection and prevention of diabetic foot wounds. This type of research is analytic with a cross sectional study design with the aim of knowing the relationship between knowledge about diabetic wounds and wound prevention measures in patients with diabetes mellitus at Puskesmas Kenangan. The population in this study were all DM patients who were treated at the Puskesmas Kenangan who had not experienced gangrene complications as many as 25 people with a sample of 25 people, the sample was taken by total sampling. The results of the study. Knowledge of the majority of diabetic wounds was less as many as 15 people (60%) and the majority of wound prevention measures were bad as many as 19 people (76%). The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the knowledge of people with diabetes mellitus about diabetic wounds and wound prevention measures, indicated by the P value = 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a relationship between the respondent's knowledge and wound prevention measures. To add insight and knowledge about diabetic wounds and how to prevent injuries, it is recommended for DM patients to take part in counseling about diabetic wounds held both at the puskesmas and other health facilities. It is recommended for nurses to provide health education to DM patients in order to increase knowledge about diabetic wounds by attaching posters of wound prevention measures.
Cara mengatasi kondisi low back pain salah satu penatalaksaannya adalah fisioterapi. Hasil penelitian (Kusuma and Setiowati 2015) bahwa latihan fisik dengan pemberian William Flexion Exercise dapat meningkatkan lingkup gerak sendi penderita low back pain. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah: 1) untuk memberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang latihan fisik dalam pencegahan low back pain (LBP), 2). agar masyarakat mengetahui pengaruh latihan fisik terhadap pencegahan low back pain (LBP) dan, 3) agar masyarakat dapat memahami latihan fisik dalam mencegah low back pain (LBP). Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan cara memaparkan materi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dengan menggunakan power point dan leaflat dan demonstrasi langsung agar peserta terampil dalam melakukan latihan fisik William Flexion Exercise. Pendidikan kesehatan yang dilakukan pada peserta kegiatan setelah dievaluasi mereka mampu memahami, menjelaskan definisi, penyebab, tanda dan gejala, serta cara mengatasi low back pain. Mereka juga bersedia melakukan gerakan-gerakan tersebut di rumah secara mandiri sesuai panduan pada leaflat yang telah diterima
