<p>Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman, pendidikan merupakan salah satu kebutuhan sangat penting dalam kehidupan saat ini yang harus dipenuhi oleh manusia. Tingkat Pendidikan menjadi tolak ukur untuk kemajuan suatu wilayah, daerah ataupun negara. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh motivasi dan disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja guru SMK Dharma Wanita Gresik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif ekploraitf, dengan menggunakan teknik analisis<em> Regresi Linear Berganda</em>. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru SMK Dharma Wanita yaitu sebanyak 34 orang, dengan teknik penentuan sampel adalah sampling jenuh sehingga didapatkan jumlah sampel sebanyak 34 orang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial variabel motivasi (X<sub>1</sub>) mampu meningkatkan kinerja (Y), begitu juga dengan variabel disiplin kerja (X<sub>2</sub>) didapatkan hasil mampu meningkatkan kinerja (Y) guru. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil pengolahan data menggunakan SPSS versi 26.0 pada uji t didapatkan nilai probabilitas signifikansi untuk motivasi sebesar 0.000 dengan nilai beta (B) sebesar 0.659, sedangkan nilai probabilitas signifikansi untuk disiplin kerja adalah 0,001 dengan nilai beta (B) sebesar 0,408. Sedangkan untuk nilai signifikansi uji simultan (Uji F) didapatkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000, dimana nilai signifikansi tersebut kurang dari 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulan bahwa secara simultan variable motivasi dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja guru SMK Dharma Wanita Gresik. Dari hasil tersebut dinyatakan bahwa baik secara parsial (uji t) maupun secara simultan (uji F) menyatakan bahwa variable motivasi dan disiplin kerja mempunyai pengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja guru.</p>
The English language has four skills that must be mastered. In this case, reading is one of them whether the learner can understand the symbol of printed words or not. On the other hand, if they have a good ability in reading, they will have a better chance to succeed in their study. This research is quantitative, it is focused on the product (the result of the test) not the process of teaching-learning, and the objective is to find out the correlation between students' schemata and their reading comprehension. This correlation is Pearson Correlation because the kind of data correlation is ordinal and interval. The total sample is 83 students, and the significance level is 5% or 0,05 r table for 83 students is 0.213. It is higher than the r table. So, it can be compared that rxy is higher than rtable 0.244 > 0.213. it can be concluded that Ha (Alternative hypothesis) is accepted and H0 is rejected, so the data is Positive correlation. The English teacher should open the class by pre-reading activities to reinforce students' schemata and the students should have good critical thinking to develop their reading comprehension of several types of text, especially narrative text.
Zoom Application is widely known as one of the most popular video conference applications used in online learning process during COVID-19 outbreak. Zoom application is considered as an interactive learning platform that enables students to interact with each other online. It provides lots of features for online learning that help students improve their speaking skill better. Therefore, this study specifically examined the perception of English students toward zoom application in online learning process. The research design used was a combined quantitative and qualitative to get more detailed information. The data collection used was in the form of questionnaire consisted of aspect of perception and speaking performance aspect. Unstructured interview in focus group discussion was used to support the result from questionnaire. The result showed that students had positive responses on their perception toward the use of Zoom application. Most of the students responded that Zoom application helped them perform speaking activity. The result of interview in focus group discussion also showed reasons that most students chose using Zoom for their speaking performance because it was easy to use and provided useful features for interaction with their teacher and other students. However, the main problem faced by students while using zoom application was internet connection. This gave bad effect for their learning process because they could not catch some of the material explained by the lecturer.
Community service activities are carried out at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik which is located on JL. Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo No. 162, Setigi, Randuagung, Gresik. The form of this activity is an outdoor activity of an English Camp which was held for two days from October 17-18, 2021. This activity aims to improve students' speaking skills. The implementation of this English Camp assistance was carried out using need analysis activity by conducting interviews with English teachers at the school. The results show that students want a form of English learning that is different from what they receive in class and can implement in daily activities, especially during school hours. Furthermore, it is hoped that the output of the activity will make students more motivated to improve their speaking skills. In addition, teachers can also facilitate with various interactive learning media so that they can create fun learning activities.
